2011 was a remarkable year for launching Google+ profiles and pages. Although different social media platforms pop out just anywhere, Google+ did not disappoint social media savvy folks because of its features and advantages. It once again proved the benefits of using social media for business. However, there is always room for improvement in different aspects of all social media platforms. As 2011 was about to end, various brands who have Google+ pages included “Multiple Admins Capability” to their Holiday wish list. Google also made an announcement that it was going to be available before the New Year but the roll out didn’t reach users in time.
But that loooong wait is finally over! Google+ page owners can now assign up to 50 managers to act as administrators for their page. Page owners only need to invite people via email to become page managers. Though it wasn’t really in time for Christmas, it is definitely a great way to start the New Year, right!
Start inviting managers to your page now through these easy steps:
Now that you’ve started to invite more people to manage your page, you might be wondering what would happen in the event that the page owner left the company or eventually changed his or her role. No need to worry, Google allows the owner to transfer ownership of the page to another page manager. The former owner will then be demoted to being a manager and can eventually be deleted by the new page owner and other managers.
It is a very cool change, right? Kudos to Google for finally making it happen. However, another big deal is right at the corner. Many people online have also been waiting for the time when they can manage Google+ profiles and pages through third party apps. Hootsuite has announced that Google+ pages integration in the dashboard will soon be available back in November 2011. Their blog post also claimed that publishing of updates will be targetable to different circles, sounds fab if you want every post to reach the right audience. But then again, this is still something that we’re crossing our fingers about. I know that all social media savvy folks especially online marketers are very excited about this integration.
We will definitely keep you posted once third party apps have finally made it!
